Valenlime: A Creative and Sustainable Packaging Design

A Swedish Brand's Love for Nature

The critical point that the Wallrus Design Studio, the mastermind behind this design, considered was transportation. By precise calculation and several trials and errors, they came up with the perfect dimensions for the package. This design is not only convenient for the customers but also maximizes the usage of container capacity in each transfer, resulting in carbon footprint mitigation and less destruction of nature.

Using bright ecoline colors, the package features illustrations of the fruits instead of their pictures, making it more pleasant and inviting. Additionally, a display window has been incorporated, showcasing real dried fruits inside the package, emphasizing the natural origin of the product. The hemp thread in the border of the illustration and transparent part symbolizes tying the image to reality.

The Valenlime packaging measures 110mm in width, 27.2mm in depth, and 115mm in height, providing ample space for the products. This design not only meets the technical specifications but also ensures a delightful unboxing experience for the customers.

The Wallrus Design Studio, led by Design Director Iman Ale Mozaffar, collaborated with illustrator Matin Mirzaei to bring this vision to life. Their meticulous research and attention to detail have resulted in a packaging design that effectively conveys Valenlime's brand message of love for nature.

The Valenlime packaging design project was initiated in January 2018 in Tehran, Iran, and was completed in September 2018. Throughout the process, the design team faced various challenges, including finding the right materials to minimize plastic use and accurately conveying the brand's message. However, their dedication and commitment to sustainability and creativity enabled them to overcome these obstacles.

The Valenlime packaging design has garnered recognition and acclaim, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022. This prestigious award is bestowed upon outstanding and creatively ingenious designs that contribute to quality of life improvements. The Valenlime packaging design stands as a testament to the studio's strong technical and creative skills, making the world a better place.
